Bug Description
As discussed on Slack with Adam, the AppCenter uses some Gdk calls to check whether the application window or any of its children are currently focused, something along the lines of:
Gdk.
There was discussion at some point of doing a similar thing in Files, as it's currently using a Timeout workaround. And I guess there might be many more applications interested in using it.
