Bug Description

Binary package hint: gparted

Observed in Feisty, gparted 0.2.5.

To reproduce:

* Right click on a partition and choose Resize/Move.

* Observe that the Resize button is faded as no choice has yet been made

* Click in either the New Size or Free Space Following text entry fields and enter a new value

* Observe that the Resize button has not been unfaded, and the graphical control at the top of the dialogue has not been updated

Workaround (not obvious to inexperienced user):

* Press tab after entering the new size; the dialogue is correctly updated

While we are in this dialogue, I'm sure the capitalization of every word in every phrase in this dialogue is not necessary!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you, as we have been unable to reproduce it. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I tested it and it behaves as the reporter says, but I'm not 100% sure whether it's intentional or not. Do we want the graphical control to jump around while typing?
I'll file a bug in upstream bugzilla and link it here once GNOME bugzilla works again...

@ Ian Hinder:
Please don't put 2 issues in 1 bug report next time. :)
I filed the capitalization issue as an upstream bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=583885

Ian: as Jan says, these are 2 separate problems. I shall edit out the capitalisation issue, and ask that you file another bug report for this, so that this report is left as the gparted problem only.

Can you further explain the problem, as there are only steps to reproduce? Is it that the hard drive partition graphics are not updating until you Tab off the entry box, or something else?
Also can you run "apport-collect 115860" without quotes so we can obtain your system information easily.
Thank you.
