Gossip menu bar got detached from the client window

gossip was started automatically when I logged in, but came up with the menu bar detached from the window and floating over the root window (see screenshot). The menu bar is apparently still working, but doesn't move with the contacts window.

If I hide and show the window using the tray icon the menubar remains visible.

When I quit and restart gossip it works properly.

At the very top is the gnome top panel (which is fine). Below that is the menu which has fallen off the gossip window.

I've seen this in the past, though unsure of what caused it. I haven't seen this in at least half a year now though.
