Undo/Redo facility for editor?

A basic undo facility, possibly with a configurable depth buffer, to undo/redo editor inputs might be useful to enable users to more easily revert changes.
This could be put into a corresponding menu named "edit", and should probably also be exposed via the toolbar.

This shouldn't be complicated to support, because the standard keybindings already work for the editor control (CTRL + Z).
