Gnumeric problem in paste special - paste link across workbooks

Bug Description
Create a workbook with 1 2 3 in A1 B1 C1 and save it, select the three cells, then create a new workbook and paste special - paste link, a ref to the original workbook is created, save it.
Close both workbooks.
Open the second workbook: all cells look empty. Note that now paste special command is grayed in the edit menu.
Ubuntu 8.10 i386, all patches applied

I assume you are opening two gnumeric files in different instances of gnumeric.
If you open the two files in the same instance (ie. open the second one using
the open menu item in the first gnumeric) paste special should work for you.
