I think that the point you raise above is not necessarily a complaint
(?), rather a communication that the bug at Launchpad could be
closed, and that -- if it had been previously reported to Launchpad
-- it could be merged as a duplicate (?)

Well, the devel list is too noisy (with all the bug reports) and I do
not have time to read it regularly.

Otoh, I just did period check (with some delay) to see if there is some
bug report in 'bugs' list and therefore the ticket was created.

I hope it didn't create too much disturbance or someone else volunteers
to create tickets out out bug reports?

This is NOT the error that is occurring. The error is that the user left blank the DOB
in the new-patient wizard and that GNUmed did not properly check for that condition.
It does so in 0.2.8.12 -- that was the sole purpose of that release.

When that log was first posted to gnumed-devel (because that is what that old client
is configured to do) I replied that that particular bug was fixed in 0.2.8.12 - because
I knew from the log that the user was running something older than that.

Only later did this report find its way into Launchpad.

All it did after being answered initially was generate MORE work for Jim, me and Gour.
I don't see the point.

The OP was right in his original comment - this IS where the bug occurs.

Even if that WAS the problem it would still not be a bug in GNUmed because
the hook script is entirely user generated.
