Can you edit the theme to use the GTK search option instead? Does this correct the issue? Also can you please send a copy of the "SearchBar.py" file in the theme you are using?

I'm not sure if I understand well the first part of your question. Can you, please, try to describe it differently?
Regarding the second part - please, find the file attached.

Hello. Regarding the "use the GTK search option" - how can I set it up to use GTK search option? I think that we misunderstood. I spead about search box of the start menu (when you type, you find start-menu items).
The background of that field is white, but the letters are white too (so the typed text is not visible or poorly visible).

Hello. FYI - today I noticed that the letters typed into start-menu search box (with white background) are black = visible (before they was white). I didn't change any settings (intentionally) and I just wanted to let you know about the fact that it works now.

PS: I just recalled myself that I changed one option in Gnomenu - I un-checked the option "Use Gtk color themes for program list" and that's the reason why the text is black now (on white background :))
