<control> + <a> on search box

Bug Description

When opening with the hotkey it appends the search text to the word "Search", rather clearing "Search" first. If I press ctrl+a to "select all", it just draws a box.

This is moved from Bug Report #599054, which is an invalid bug report to here as this is a different bug and has been confirmed. by me.
