Bug Description

I have an nVidia TwinView setup. I have my AWN at the top left of my right screen, and my GnoMenu is the leftmost icon on the dock. When I click to open GnoMenu, it appears on the top right corner of the left monitor.

See attached screenshot for a picture of the issue. I'm running the latest builds of AWN and GnoMenu from their respective PPAs.

After playing around a little more, I think the reason for this is that TwinView doesn't allow windows to be drawn between screens at startup. I found that if I move the GnoMenu icon (which is the Ubuntu icon inside the gray ring) one space to the right in AWN, it draws where I would expect it. It looks like GnoMenu is trying to be drawn in the center, under its icon, but TwinView is shifting it to the left or the right, depending on how much of the menu is on each monitor.

The expected behavior would be to see which monitor the GnoMenu icon is on and adjust position accordingly.

I've confirmed that using a wider theme also causes it to be rendered in the correct place.

Because you did a very thorough job on the report and did provide a screen shot that showed the issue and I have no feasible means to reproduce this I'm going to mark it as confirmed.

The main issue in this bug is to see if Helder can somehow reproduce it as well. If he does not have the equipment to do so would you be willing to follow step by step Troubleshooting to find and fix this issue?

Yes, I can do that. I'm a software developer by trade--the only reason I haven't fixed it yet is I don't know python or your architecture very well.

Just tell me what you'd like me to do, or if you want to move this to a private thread, you can find my email on my launchpad user page.
