Okay can you please tell us the compiz-fusion plugins you are using and what settings you have. I know its a lot of detail but the little details matter on something like this.

This bug still valid with GnoMenu 2.8. Does it a bug of GnoMenu or avant-window-navigator?

Confirming the Bug is still present: Ubuntu 10.10, GnoMenu 2.9, AWN 0.4.0
Possible workaround until the bug gets fixed: Compiz Place Windows Plugin

Windows with fixed position -> Add New

   class=GnoMenu.py X and Y Position depend on your layout of AWN and GnoMenu
                                          X = 0 , Y = 0 - for the top left corner

Hope this will help someone

Thank you Dmitriy! I have my AWN left-docked and this menu was always appearing in the bottom left corner of the screen sometime resulting in it being underneath AWN.

The workaround you suggest Setting the Fixed Position in Place Windows let me put it exactly where I want and is perfect! I will use this for other things now!
