Popup with first message in conversation doesn't show in Gnome Shell

When someone begin new conversation with me often I miss first message, because it doesn't show. On second message popup appear.

its a messaging menu bug moving there:)

Which popup do you mean? The messaging menu doesn't show any notification popups.

Also, the messaging menu isn't used at all in gnome shell.

That's actually a bug in gnome-shell, no relation to the messaging menu
