Bug Description
I use Ubuntu 20.04 on a laptop with only one external screen (totaling two screens). It just so happens that every time I boot into Ubuntu it behaves as though I had three screens, where the 'third' one is nonexistent, it is a ghost, and I can't access it. It resolves as soon as I open the settings app, as if the action of opening the app triggered the system to correct the error. Another setting that resets sometimes is the relative positioning between the screens, and sometimes even the setting for which display should be the default.
There are a few times in which opening the settings app does not trigger the correction and I have to do it by hand, disabling the (ghost) third screen and repositioning the displays relative to each other.
