please include time and date in unlock dialog

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

xscreensaver displays the time and date in the unlock dialog. I find it useful to have that information there, so please add this to gnome-screensaver as well.

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have
the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a
specification for this.

You should first check whether it already exists at the Ubuntu specs
page (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs) in Launchpad. If
that is the case, feel free to contact the drafter of that spec about
your comments/suggestions. Otherwise you can start writing a spec
following the steps described in
        https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications.

thats a bit overkill to have a spec for it, it should rather be filed upstream for future implementation.

Seems as if the guys from gnome don't want to implement this...

Gnome upstream does not want to implement this. On a minor feature such as this we would prefer not to split from the upstream version as that creates extra maintenance work in the future. If you feel strongly about it you should lobby for the change in Gnome upstream.
