I'm separating this out from bug #389857 since they are actually two different bugs:

1) This bug deals with an out of date example python script (see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472812)
2) bug 389857 deals with a bug in Karmic where the inhibit applet isn't working at all

They are possibly related.

Sorry for the email spam, the linked upstream bug is unrelated. I'm working on isolating it and getting upstream to look at it since it is possibly related to bug 389857

/usr/bin/gnome-power-manager-inhibit is an Ubuntu script.

It needs to be fixed or removed.

Inhibit has been moved to gnome session, away from gnome power manager. gnome-power-manager-inhibit.py is no longer included in the gnome-power-manager package [1], so this won't be fixed. Thanks for the report, it actually helped point out that the inhibit applet was broken upstream as well, and it is currently being fixed.
