Bug Description
This is something I regularly encounter on three different machines. Two of them are running two different version of Ubuntu (8.04 and 9.04) while the third one is running OpenSuse 10.1. So guess it's a general Gnome issue, but you've asked for the most annoying problems so here it is.
On each of the three machines, I use two panels: one on the left side of the screen and on on the bottom. My bottom panel is configured as variable-width (no expand) and contains the window list, clock, and a couple of small icons. It all works fine until Compiz effects are on. When I do that, the clock and the window list (and I guess everything else on the panel) will occasionally freeze. I can unfreeze them by switching to a different virtual desktop and back, or by launching a new window and closing it again.
Do you get this bug running a default panel setup?
