I really love this tool but not being able to use text really affects me...it's way better than GNU Paint or Kolourpaint so I'm hoping that I'll be able to use it more when this text tool is finally added!

Adding the 'missing' features would indeed be great: the text tool, the free selection tool and the zoom tool. It'd be a complete clone for MS Paint, which is something a lot of people are looking for.

The text-tool and the zoom-tool are critical features to have for any usable paint program. Text-tool should be a priority. But zoom also. Without zoom, users have no way of dealing with images that are larger than their screen size.
