Bug Description

i am using Natty (11.04) with unity interface on an Asus k50IJ. i am having a problem with gnome alsa mixer. at startup, the 'front' in alsa mixer is mute (at zero). when i move it up, the sound comes out as normal. but, while playing video or audio, the 'front' again comes down to zero when 'PAUSE' or 'STOP' button is pressed (whichever player i use). to hear sound, i have to scroll it up again.

@ Harry van Haaren
sorry for the late reply. my sound card is "VIA VT1708S @ Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-3]"

my driver in ubuntu is "VIA VT 1708S"

i think pulse is installed. however, i am uploading a screenshot of my synaptic manager window to be sure.
