Bug Description

It would be nice to have speaker, headphone and mic icons instead of just the audio-card icon shown in Sound Settings today.

We need the following things:
 * PulseAudio 3.0 [Check, released in Raring]
 * Gnome-control-center patch: [here: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~diwic/gnome-control-center/new-icons/revision/543]
 * An audio-speaker icon [Needs to move from gnome-icon-theme-full to gnome-icon-theme]
 * An audio-headphones icon [Missing, there is one in oxygen-icon-theme though, but not sure if we can use it?]
 * An audio-handsfree icon [Missing]

One possibility could be to do a symlink between audio-headphones and audio-handsfree to the audio-headset icon, if we don't get any new icons.

Adding what I think is a debdiff to copy the headset icon to handsfree.

Here's tweaked debdiff which should be more in keeping with the correct style.

I've tested this on my Artful machine, and it fixes the missing handsfree icon.

The attachment "adwaita-icon-theme_3.24.0-0ubuntu2~will1.debdiff" seems to be a debdiff. ok, that looks overall good. I'm wondering though about the maintainibility of this as it starts to have multiple lines (like, what happens if a new icon size is shipped?).

What do you think about challenging this (and you ;)) up and adding a loop in debian/rules in the install target to create those symlinks at build-time?

Will, Didier,

I think the right answer for maintainability is for Will to open a bug about this issue with GNOME. :)

Added link to upstream. In the meantime I will look into Didier's suggestion as well.
