Bug Description

When you open the System-Settings, the cursor jumps by default to the search field and the keyboard pops up but the cursor shouldn't jump there by default.

This issue also affects ubuntu-software-center.

Confirmed and this is super annoying because it hides a large part of the control center which is already takes up a lot of vertical space. We could solve this by making default focus not on that text input box.

If there was a tablet interface for Ubuntu Software Center, it would indeed not focus the search field by default. Quite possibly it wouldn't even have a search field visible by default. But Ubuntu Software Center currently does not have a tablet interface, so this bug is invalid. I think it's invalid for System Settings for the same reason.
