I can confirm this. Reinstalling gnome-app-install didn't fix anything.
I can select any other program in any of the other categories (I have gnome-app-install showing all available applications from main, universe, restricted, and multiverse) and even most games but as soon as I select any of the games in the gnome-games package, gnome-app-install freezes. Removing the gnome-games package didn't fix anything either.
This only started happening recently but I can't say exactly when or if it was before or after I installed a particular package. I've been adding and removing a lot of packages lately and too much has changed for me to pinpoint aything specific. It also doesn't help that I only check in the games category of gnome-app-install every once in a while :)
