Bug Description

Hi,

I'm in the process of putting together an official package for inclusion in Ubuntu Maverick. One issue that I have came across is that the scripts (gm-notify.py and gm-notify-config.py) installed into /usr/bin/ contain the .py extension. Unfortunetly, this is a violation of Debian policy.

"When scripts are installed into a directory in the system PATH, the script name should not include an extension such as .sh or .pl that denotes the scripting language currently used to implement it."

Debian Policy Manual section 10.4, Scripts: http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-scripts

While this obviously doesn't effect the functionality of the program, it would be nice if the package was complaint. Please consider merging the attached branch resolving this issue.

Thanks!
