Bug Description

I have two icons of Google Mail; the first is the the default monochrome one and an old version (colored one), I think this happened because I installed a trunk version twice and it does seem that the recent one did not overwrite the older.

oh - this could be... currently trunk is the PPA version, so try to remove the files /usr/local/bin/gm-notify.py, /usr/local/bin/gm-notify-config.py and /usr/local/share/indicators/messages/applications/gm-notify.

And if you like install the PPA version, then you will receive updates automatically ;-)

Not sure if this is related, but if I change the advanced settings to check a folder/tag it adds two entries into the me menu till next login when it returns to just one.

what exactly is added two times? The entry "Google Mail"?

No this isn't related.. just uncheck " ignore box " and don't use inbox as label.
you shouldn't then get two entries of the same label
