Gm-notify does not appear in notification area with Ubuntu 12.10

I haven't been able to make gm-notify appear in the notification area with Ubuntu 12.10. It seems that it is due to the new notification system introduced with Ubuntu 12.10. Is there currently any development to make it work ?
By the way, several others applications applications seems to be concerned.

Furthermore, starting with 12.10, it doesn't seem to start the mail client when the user clicks on a notification message, neither the system mail client nor the web frontend.

Gm-notify does "somewhat" works perfectly with 12.10

It notifies you whenever you receive a new mail from the gmail account you configure, only problem is the applet clicking is not working (no matter webclient or own mail app) and the notification is not showing in the upbar (if it ever should show something like that, not sure as Im first time trying gm-notify).

By the time its the best Ive found to check gmail without having to keep session opened in chrome to use the built-in browser notification.

I confirm that notifications work when a new email is received but gm-notify icon doesn't appear in the notification-applet on Ubuntu 12.10 64bits using gnome-panel or cairo-dock.

in 13.04 i get notifications but the app is not integrated with the unity mail app-indicator.

it works fine on my other 13.10 install though.

Having the the problem in 14.04 (fresh install of final release). In 12.04, I had before, it worked fine.
