gloobus-preview flickers when large pdfs are opened

When large pdf files (around 1000 pages) are opened , the preview starts flickering . Many of the times it hangs while doing this . This becomes annoying.

I am using ubuntu 9.10 x64
                 gloobus-preview 0.4.1-0-ppa12

I had the flickering problem, followed by freezing and having to force quit the PDF. It was a 42 page PDF at 1.7MB.

This pdf file flickers for few seconds then becomes stable !

Also i have noticed that while opening pdfs having different page sizes , the horizontal scroll bar does not work if the pdf is large ! I think this happens till the whole pdf is loaded into memory ...

I can confirm this. When large PDFs (hundreds of pages) keep loading, their content flickers.

Hey Maia, do you have a ati too?

I opened that file and It opens correctly without flikering in my pc and laptop (both with nvidia)

It can flicker when there are diferents page sizes.. it needs to calculate the center.
Is this the case?

I can confirm this, too.

Large PDFs and PDFs with different page sizes (usually the cover page of ebooks differ in size) flickers a lot, rendering gloobus-preview unusable for PDFs.

ummm I think is due ATIs drivers... do you have the posiblity to try it with a nvidia card?

Can't confirm flickering with an Intel card.

+1 to it being an ati only problem

i have an nvidia card (GeForce 7000M) and i have same problem.
