I can confirm this bug affects Gentoo x86_64 as well (using bzr tip of globalmenu extension). The error is the same as above:

No rule to make target `_xpidlgen/uIGlobalMenuService.h'

Yes, this is because I need to refresh the build system due to the xpidl changes. We don't hit this problem in Ubuntu because we build the extension with Firefox, from the Firefox source tree (using its build system instead)

Can you try the latest revision in trunk (r272) and see if that works?

How to get r272?
In lp:globalmenu-extension/2.0 latest revision is 261

I haven't pushed it to the 2.0 branch yet. Can you try lp:globalmenu-extension ?

Thank you, now build is OK.
When I start firefox appmenu displays correct, but when I click on the menu, firefox segfaults :(

Or maybe I need to create separate bug report?

Chris Coulson (chrisccoulson) wrote :

You can report a separate bug for that, as long as you can provide a complete stacktrace (make sure to build with CFLAGS=-g CXXFLAGS=-g and --disable-strip-libs), and as long as it crashes when running in Firefox based on the same gecko version as the extension was compiled on (running it on a different version can result in pretty weird crashes)

@xorik: try recompiling appmenu, firefox, xulrunner or something like that. revdep-rebuild perhaps. on my system appmenu works fine, and I have gentoo x86_64 as well.

On my arch x86_64 with xulrunner sdk /2.0 does compiles, but tip doesn't with that same error message (No rule to make target `_xpidlgen/uIGlobalMenuService.h')
