Bug Description

With the extension enabled, it is impossible to drag & drop messages between folders in Thunderbird. For example, it looks like a message can be dragged from one's inbox to another folder while dragging, but the drag is unsuccessful. This occurs with Thunderbird 17.0.7 and with the Global Menu Bar extension from 27.6.2013 on Xubuntu 12.04.2 (not tested with other version combinations).

To get around this, the Global Menu Bar extension must be disabled, and Thunderbird restarted. It is not necessary to disable any other extensions. Drag & drop of messages then works again.

Glad I found this. Problem solved. Only I'm running Mint 16 (based on Ubunty saucy), and the plugin I needed to disable is called "Messaging Menu and Unity Launcher Integration 1.3.1".

I'd had that disabled before, but had deleted some files in my thunderbird profile when recovering from a nasty crash, and it seems my preferences for which add-ons should be enabled had been forgotten. I'd like to remove that plugin from my system entirely, but am not clear what module installed it.
