empty image created when taking instance snapshot for instance booted from volume

Bug Description

I booted an instance from a volume and than took a snapshot from the instance.
we create a volume snapshot and an image snapshot which is an empty image we cannot boot from

What's the compute driver you're using? You know, the snapshot is almost done by Nova, so I assume it's related to Nova side.

I see the same problem using nova libvirt driver (kvm) and cinder gpfs driver.

This bug also affects me, i'm running openstack 1.0.1 and openstack-nova-compute-2014.2.1-1.el7.centos.noarch and openstack-nova-common-2014.2.1-1.el7.centos.noarch
