Bug Description
Hi,
would it be reasonable to automatically fliter out known "not-for-changelog" strings when generating the initial changelog.
An example is like empty line followed by Signed-off
^$Signed-off-by:.*
Probably even multiple signed offs.
I guess that will help to one day avoid having a follow on commit that polishes the changelog (at least if there are no Drops/Adds).
So you mean these are in the commit messages, but you don't want to incorporate them? I'm not a fan of adding too many heuristics (although Signed-off-by- is well-established, perhaps). In general, we have the --CL-- mechanism for this?
