Lobby not loading immediately

Attempting to display the lobby servers, before the dev message checker has finished results in the screen displaying the 0/-1 amount of servers, until it ends

Until what ends? The dev message checker isn't persistent anymore in 2.3, it is destroyed as soon as you enter the Lobby room.

i don't know what the dev message checker is, but for me it takes a while for the servers to come up. I think mostly because my internet sucks, most of the pings are yellow and red. Sometimes i get ridiculously high pings like 6000+

waiting for the dev message checker to end on the title screen makes it load immediately

interrupting it and ending it prematurely adds a delay to the lobby loading

I never managed to find out why/how this happens, and I only ever heard about these exact symptoms from NAGN.

I had a similar problem myself now, in which I was unable to host a game while the dev message checker was still running (there was no internet connection. IIRC UPNP and lobby registration were turned off) IIRC the error said that the port was already in use. Changing the port to 8191 did not fix this, but waiting for the dev message checker to finish did.
