Bug Description

I recently packaged i386 and AMD64 versions of VisualBoyAdvance-M, which is a cross-platform version of the most popular Gameboy/Gameboy Advance Emulator EVER, and I would like to make these packages available to a wider range of people. Therefore, I am requesting that these packages I put together be added to GetDeb.net, so that many more people are aware of VBA-M and are able to install and use the emulator.

Currently, the packages can be downloaded from here:

We do not publish prebuild Debian package but build it on our server.

Please attach the debian directory you used for building the application.

And please also add links to the download of the source code and the project page.

Okay, that's no problem, here's the debian folders for both the i386 and amd64 versions in one tarball. They've been sorted properly into folders labeled for their architectures so it's obvious as to which one is which:

As for the source code, the latest is available through SVN here:
http://vbam.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/vbam/trunk/?view=tar

The project page is located here:
http://vba-m.com/

The version numbers in the DEBIAN folders are probably incorrect by now, but it should still build. BTW, vbam requires Cmake partially to build. The command that has to be executed prior to 'make' is:
cmake . -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr

Hope all of this helps!

Thanks for the information.
But I meant the debian directory which you used for building the packages and not the directory inside the packages.

Okay then, here's the complete directories of the unbuilt packages for both architectures:

Does this work?

No, this is the wrong directory.

I just will have a look for it for myself.

A person contacted me about putting VBAM in his personal PPA a while ago. After trying to get it to build and coming across some problems, he said this:
"I think I've finally got it building properly on the PPA build farm.

Unfortunately, I had to disable the assembly core and assembly filters and fall back on regular ol' C to get it to build properly, but I figure it'll be alright. I'll keep working on it and maybe get it working in a future version..."
Does that help at all?

Thank you for the information.

I even found the package in the PPA with the diff to disable the asm:

Expect the package to be released tomorrow as a christmas present :)

Cool, thanks!
By the way, I'm sorry I didn't link you to that PPA myself, that's the exact PPA I was talking about.

There was an issue in the amd64 build on our server.
But it is a problem on our server and not within the package.

Will publish the i386 release first.

Merry Christmas!

The amd64 build issue on our server could not be resolved.

I uploaded the package to my ppa where it built fine for amd64.
Packages for lucid are here. They should also work for maverick.

I was wrong. Maverick requires its one release. Just uploading for maverick...
