Color palette doesn't center at 0

Lets say I have a float attribute for nodes that is log 2 based, with values ranging from -2 to +10. If I select a 3 color palette such as blue - white - red, the nodes with value 0 will be red instead of white - the color palette doesn't center at 0.

Additionally, It would be nice to set a max, min and center value for the color range, even if its shorter or longer than the data in the nodes. In the above example, I would like to have a range from -10 to +10.

With data that goes to negative as well as positive, we expect the nodes with a value of 0 to be exactly the middle color chosen on the color palette (lets say white for a red-white-blue palette). Right now, let's say you have nodes ranging from -10 to +10, this is the behavior we get. However, lets say values in the dataset range from -2 to +10, white will be incorrectly assigned to +4, and the nodes with a value of 0 will be red, and the nodes with -2 will be far red, but they should be only slightly red (as the color palette should scale to -10, to be equal on both sides).

This could be fixed by automatic detection of outer limits, or by allowing manual input of what value correspond to the left end, middle and right end of the color palette. Right now the range parameter doesn't let you input a middle value, and doesn't work for left and right end values anyway (although it let you input values there, it doesn't change a thing in the display).
