Bug Description
I'm running Fedora 25 with Gnome 3.22.4 and when being on Wayland, I don't know how to start/use GEncFSM, since there is no icon appearing in the tray.
Btw.: Can't this be transformed to this new Gnome Shell tray icon/utility thing? The old tray icons don't behave well…
Thank you for reporting this issue.
Most likely GEncfsM falls back to use the classic tray icon. Can you try to force the usage of the appindicator by executing the following line in a terminal?
gnome-encfs-manager set_pref force_traysyste m="appindicator " && gnome-encfs-manager --replace
Regards,
Moritz
PS: The native gnome shell tray icons are written in javascript and interfacing with backends over dbus. It's not worth it since appindicators can be also put next to the native icons in gnome shell if wanted using e.g. this extension: https:/ /extensions. gnome.org/ extension/ 615/appindicato r-support/
