Bug Description

I have just been testing the new beta version of Fedora 25 which defaults to Gnome session running on Wayland. When I start gnome encfs manager, the icon does not display, using either the top icons extension or the standard legacy icons bar at the bottom. The app does appear to be running when I check under the system monitor. It does work if I choose the the Gnome on X session at login.

Other legacy icons seem to work ok like dropbox and skype, so it doesn't appear to be a general problem with wayland.

The version of the package I am using is from here:

dnf config-manager --add-repo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:moritzmolch:gencfsm/Fedora_24/home:moritzmolch:gencfsm.repo
dnf install gnome-encfs-manager

Version of package 1.8.18-289.1 x86_64

There is no specific Fedora 25 repo yet.

Thank you for reporting this issue and I am very sorry for the delay in reply.

To use GEncfsM on Gnome with Wayland, please first install this extension:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/615/appindicator-support/

and then enforce the usage of the appindicator by executing the following command:
gnome-encfs-manager set_pref force_traysystem="appindicator" && gnome-
encfs-manager --replace

It should then sit next to the system icons:

I hope this helps and kind regards,
Moritz
