gedit 2.13.90 menu entry doesn't appear on fresh account

Had to create a new account for a third user on my computer and it seems that menu isn't populated with gedit icon.

Thanks for your bug. What does "gnome-menu-spec-test | grep gedit" do? Do you have a ~/.local/share/applications/gedit.destkop for that user?

not an upstream issue, they ship a .desktop

Yes not upstream, it has been filled automatically as this and I wasn't sure how to close it.

My weird user :
$ gnome-menu-spec-test | grep gedit

I just saw that in my current user as well it disappeared but as I use a launcher I didn't see it before.

Needless to say I didn't created them manually, that's for sure. 8-|

Running update-menu with my new user solved the problem.

Deleting all local gedit and killing the panel solved the problem as well.

But that should not occur in the first place.

the issue was caused by the gedit.desktop to the .local directory, there was some issue with nautilus which is likely to create them, the bug is supposed to be fixed. Closing the bug as rejected since that's not due to gedit, feel free to open a nautilus bug if that still happens with dapper
