Bug Description

gschem has a lot of useful stuff reachable from "Add Component...", unfortunately it also has a bunch of mostly useless spotty old vendor-specific folders that hide all the useful stuff. They give the impression that the whole collection is junk and make it harder to select the useful items.

The vendor-specific folders should go away or live under one top-level folder "Vendor-specific" or something.

It's also a bad idea to not just name the folders with the names of the directories in which the symbols live (minus path prefix perhaps). gEDA is a file and command-line oriented suite, so when there's an option to expose folder names it should be done.
In some cases the folders should be renamed to be more understandable themselves (e.g. 7400 is probably better than 74 for not much added cost).
