a temporary fix is to create a empty text file named .dmrc inside your home folder with just one line ( edit the file and type 'Enter' one time, and save. )

Could it be only partially fixed?

A friend of mine experienced it also in Hardy.

Look at lines 393, 394 and 395 of the attached syslog.

By the way he reports that the mouse is not recognized or, al least, the cursors doesn't move. Could it be related? Should I file a new separate bug report?

In case you need it to evaluate if there could be a correlation here you are the Xorg log.

Uh... sorry. I just found this line:
"PNP: PS/2 appears to have AUX port disabled, if this is incorrect please boot with i8042.nopnp"
so the mouse problem has probably nothing to do with the Glib-CRITICAL. Sorry for the involuntary spam; you can remove this and my previous comment if you want.
