gdesklets will not start

I am new to linux and ubuntu but im learning how to navigate a little in terminal. The problem i have is I installed gdesklets and when i try to start it, it says starting gdesklets and then it just dissappears. I go to terminal and use "gdesklets status" and it says its not running. Seems like it crashes when its trying to start. Ive tried to remove and reinstall but with no luck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue today after installing gdesklets.

I ran the app from the console and here is what was logged.
I'm french so the comments are in french.

The latest lines translate roughtly to:
Unable to establish the connection to the daemon : expiration delay.
The journal file should help you help solve this problem.

I looked at the journal but I could not find anything related to gdesklets except from the installation logs.

This looks like (the typical) gdesklets-ubuntu thingy :/.
Can't be fixed by gDesklets. Please report in the "gdesklets (ubuntu)" bug tracker (see duplicate bugs).
