Bug Description

Ok, I am trying to connect a bluetooth headphones (Motorola 820) useing the on board bluetooth manager, the problem is when I right click and then left click on "browse device..." it shows my headphones and when i click on the name of my headphones it tells me to type in the pass key, i type it in and i get this error "Couldn't display "obex://[00:07:a4:f2:64:e6]". This is my adapter . I also tried the bluetooth headset manager ,when i go to connect my headphones a window pops up and says "connecting" and after like 5 secs it the window closes and it doesn't connect. I also tried blueman bluetooth manager and i click on the headphone i type in the pass key and it shows that it is connected when its not :/.

Are you still having this in Hardy? My phone's bluetooth connection started to work only in Hardy.

I have exactly the same problem on Hardy and also had it on the last version of Ubuntu.

I'm using a Plantronics M3000 Bluetooth headset and when I searched on Google, I found some others with my headset, having the same problem.

My Bluetooth dongle is unbranded, but works fine with my Nokia N70 phone. However, I can't connect to my Palm T5 PDA either...

Is there a tool I can run to trace this problem and assist?

Same problem, eeePC running Ubuntu 8.04 Netbook Remix 2.6.24-21-eeepc and the headset is a Plantronics 340 bluetooth headset. The headset pairs and works well with my Nokia E50 and the Nokia E50 works OK with bluetooth dongle on both my Ubuntu 8.04 novatech laptop and my eeepc.

This is the bluetooth dongle:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

It took half an hour of messing about to get bluetooth working properly on the eeepc (though it works oob on the novatech) but now it is and I can pair my Nokia and transfer files from the Nokia to the eeePC (thought not the other way around although 'send' works - but that's different bug).

eeepc is using bluez-utils 3.26-0ubuntu6which I think should include audio support for the headset?

When I try to pair my Plantronics headset to the eeepc I get:
Couldn't display "obex//[blah blah]/"
Error: Host down
Please select another viewer and try again.

I've also had some timeout errors.

This is what dmesg has to say:
[ 50.654541] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.8
[ 52.770120] NET: Registered protocol family 17
[ 54.289123] [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810

[ 56.373602] NET: Registered protocol family 10

I don't know what else to check as I don't know enough to get any further - I can find plenty of people who have this sort of problem with various bluetooth audio devices in forums but haven't found a fix that works.

Apparently, Blueman works for some people but the site is down for maintenace at the moment so can't find out if it works for me right now. Anyway, it seems that there are problems with the sound anyway.

Some people say gbtsco (bluetooth headset manager) will let you pair the device but the sound doesn't work properly - anyway, it looks as though that package isn't being maintained now?

I'm stumped?
