Bug Description

I believe this may be related to bug #286979, but I'm not certain. It also seems to be an evil bug in that it depends to the computer hardware. I've attached a file named gasp_update_when_bug.py that has the bug in question. On a our Dell Latitude E5500 laptops, we get the following behavior: pressing and holding a key (let's say the 'a' key) seems to fill a buffer somewhere, so that later when another key is pressed, an 'a' is returned instead of the pressed key.

I can't reproduce this on my desktop system with a standard USB keyboard, but it is easy to reproduce on the E5500 laptops.
