Emacs are not working properly in Elementary OS

When I am trying to open a file using emacs I get the following message:
Failed to execute child process "xterm" (No such file or directory)

I managed to resolve this issue when opening a file using emacs from terminal (I used an alias in my .bashrc file - alias emacs='XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 emacs'), but the problem still exists when clicking on the file to open it with emacs.
