Gala freezes when using hot corners or alt-tabbing while using a mouse intercepting application

If you use hot corners or try to alt-tab to switch to another window while using an application that intercepts the mouse, such as some games (especially on Wine), it's impossible to interact further with Gala. This means that the wm gets stuck on either the window switching view or the alt-tab view. This also happens with fullscreen applications, which shouldn't allow hot corners.

The only workaround is killing Gala or shutting down the computer.

Might you have an idea which version this bug was introduced in? Was it always present? And if not, might we be albe to dowgrade a few packages until it is fixed in an upcoming release?

As far as I know this issue has always been there, at least in elementary os Freya. We might have to wait for some words from the development team.
