Gala doesn't know about HiDPI

When running in GNOME/GTK's HiDPI mode, Gala incorrectly renders everything in normal DPI, so half the size as it should. For example, the window switcher, workspace overview, window overview icons, and titlebars are all tiny on a HiDPI display.

To test, set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xsettings.overrides to {'Gdk/WindowScalingFactor': <2>}. Reset it to 1 to revert.

Mutter doesn't support high dpi scaling yet. You can force it but by using CLUTTER_SCALE=2 but then only 1 quarter of the desktop is visible.

To add to this list, notifications are also incorrectly sized.

Though I'm not sure what Cass means about titlebars.

Hi.

I just want to add that on HiDPI laptop Samsung 940X and Freya Beta 2, with resolution 3200x1800, Elementary apps were looking OK, also LibreOffice and Midori, but almost everything else was completely unusable. Google Chrome, Firefox, Gimp, Inkscape, Google Web Designer, even the login screen.

After reading comment #1, thank you so much Cassidy James, I managed to get my Freya working. To be precise, all except login screen.

Dan, legacy titlebars in Freya (i.e. Chrome) were still rendering at the original size (lodpi). This does not appear to be an issue in Loki.
