Bug Description
( I made a video, hopefully better demonstrating this bug: http://
When alt+tabbing, Hangouts extension windows become completely invisible, if the "Keep on top" option is enabled in the Hangouts options, or the windows are dragged and docked on the bottom right corner. In addition, these windows can't be cycled through by alt+tabbing. These invisible windows still respond to clicks, and they still show in the context menu of the Chrome launcher in Plank.
If the "Keep on top" option is disabled, and the windows aren't docked, alt+tab doesn't make them invisible, and I can still alt+tab to them as normal.
Activating the window overview (Super+W, top left hot corner by default) makes them visible again, and switching this way doesn't trigger this bug.
This was tested on Chrome stable (28.0.1500.
I also tested this under xfce 4.10 (xfwm4) and KDE 4.10 (kwin), without any issues.
I think it might be related to Bug #1206492 I posted some days ago. In my case I noticed it with conky, but the behavior is the same.
