Netbeans menu don't work when maximized or enlarged

Bug Description

When netbeans 7.1 is maximized or enlarged by dragging, the top menus (file, edit, etc.) don’t work properly with mouse.

This is a problem with communication between swing applications and the window manager. A quick workaround is:
* Unmaximize the window and make sure menus work.
* Move window to top-lef corner.
* Maximize the window.

This might happen in other java applications as well, e.g. webcamstudio.

This bug seems to be related to Mutter on which Gala is based on.

With NetBeans 7.3 and I have the same problem. Linux Mint developers have solved the problem in Canela. Please Fix this

Here is the cure:
Edit Netbeans .desktop launcher in ~/.local/share/applications/ to change Exec like this:

Exec=env DESKTOP_SESSION="gnome-shell" /bin/sh "/your/path/to/netbeans"

We recently had an update which may have fixed this. Please test again and reopen if it is not fixed yet.
