Bug Description

See attached video for an illustration of the problem. Seems to be a result of hiding modal windows.

You only get normal windows, no dialogs.
Is that fine, designers?

IMHO, expose should have the same behavior that window-switcher and Plank (which acknowledge these dialogs) have today. You'll see in the video above that both window-switcher and Plank handle those settings windows just fine. I didn't record the handling of "about dialog", but I have verified that they're skipped/hidden as expected. We wouldn't want modal dialogs displayed if the parent window is visible.

Well, I'd either show dialogs without a visible parent along with normal windows, or show all dialogs and attach ones with a visible parent to their parent.

Agree with shnatsel. We just need to make sure no dialog is shown as a separate/independent window if parent is visible.

See attachment for a corollary. Here's how dialogs are being handled in expose today when one closes a window which triggers a dialog. Added for completeness.

Ah that first screencast shows a definite problem where those dialogs do not have a "parent" window, so they should show in the window overview.
