Bug Description

Right now the build will break if newer compiler versions add warnings. I do agree that it makes sense for development, but it would be nice to be able to easily disable -Werror in release build and for building distribution packages.

Sorry, that's part of the way I ensure bad compilations get picked up on a wide range of compilers and architectures. Marking this as an opinion.

What error are you hitting when you get this -Werror breakage? Which flavour of gcc, which release of fwts.

I fully understand that. But this means that either you force downstream distributions to get FTBFS issues after a while because the compilers decided to change or you force them to patch the sources to remove the -Werror. Both seem odd to me.
