Bug Description

Black bars aren't really need on videos on the ipod and it seems to squish videos that start off at 4:3 or widescreen tv shows.

Hi Sid, can you let me know what version of iPod you are using?

ipod nano 4g. I generally use Avidemuix to encode videos and find that the
default ipod settings from 2.4.4 work the best. I can send the 3 meg fiel
over if you need to test.

I also find that black bars are not needed when encoding.

It would seem that the Nano has a screen size (376x240) that is different from both the iPod Classic (320x240) and iPhone / Touch (480x320). As such, you'll get the stretching that you have mentioned. I shall take a look at adding a new preset based specifically on the Nano resolution. Would you have any objection to me sending you a pre-release version of iConverter to you can test it with your device? Unfortunately, I don't have access to one of these devices to test.

Would love to. Prefer the .tar.gz version.

Sorry Sid, could you email the video file that you have been using so I can do some preliminary checks prior to packaging. Please send it to <email address hidden>
Thanks

Sid32, please find the packaged tarball. This should fix the resolution issues (there was a bug into the code where by the resolution was being calculated wrong) and also has a new preset for the Nano. Please let me have your thoughts/comments. Many thanks for pointing this bug out and helping me test the fix.

Using furiusiconverter_0.1.1.0 here are some examples of videos I encoded with it. The Hcide video was originally 640x480(4:3) and was converted with bars on the sides, not quite 320x240(4:3), instead 376 x 240

The Southpark openings: the Avid Edit is proper size using Avidemuix to convert. The Fur Nano one was converted with the Nano settings on furiusiconverter_0.1.1.0.

The Avid file is 320 x 180 and the Fur Nano one was 320 x 204. I think you are trying to get it to be 320x240, maybe a case of a typo? 204 v 240?

Is it possible to be able to save Nano as the default settings?
