Node search input remains open after clicking outside

Bug Description
Steps to reproduce:
1. create default env
2. type in some string into node search input on Nodes tab
3. switch to another tab
4. go back to Nodes tab
5. click 'close' button of node search input to clear it's value
6. click outside the empty input
Expected result: the node search input should be closed
Actual result: the input remains on the page and just loses focus
