Bug Description

Hi,

Just experimenting with Mirantis 7. Tried installing a few fuel plugins and they show up in the installed plugins section of the fuel dashboard but there is no way of enabling them as the settings page doesn't show any option to enable any of the plugins.

Tried creating a new stack and even rebooting.

Thanks

Daniel

I thought that maybe version 7 is not compatible but either way it's a bug because ideally you shouldn't allow the install and the plugins page in the dashboard should show a compatibility warning. There is no way of knowing that they are incompatible.

It may be a reason that the plugin is for 6.1 only and you are trying to install it on 7.0

I used fuel-community-7.0-156-2015-09-19_06-44-38.iso .

I tried FWAAS, VPNAAS, Midonet, Zabbix, Elastic Search and LMA Collector from this site https://www.mirantis.com/products/openstack-drivers-and-plugins/fuel-plugins/.

I installed the plugins using fuel plugins --install "rpm" and they immediately all showed up in the dashboard but nothing in the settings page. Tried rebooting but didn't help.

Even plugins which were created a year ago can be installed on newer version of Fuel (because of upgrades), so basically only compatibility between plugin and release (openstack release) really matters, probably plugin was not compatible with specific version of openstack release.

I'm not sure if we should show warnings for each plugin on dashboard, there could be a lot of them, I think notification will work here better, lets ask Vitaly K. (UI team), what he thinks about that.

Can the situation be fixed? i.e. can we now remove/upgrade problematic plugins to fix the situation? If we do, then it should be a warning on the dashboard. If not, then it should be a notification - that's my opinion. All warnings on the dashboard should be fixable - i.e. user should be able to get rid of all of them - run network verification, enalbe TLS, etc. The same applies for plugins.

summary: - Fuel Dashboard shoulf provide warnings if installed plugins don't
+ Fuel Dashboard should provide warnings if installed plugins don't
support current version of Fuel
