I reproduced the bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1383800 and then applied changes from https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/openstack/manifests/compute.pp to verify fix -https://review.openstack.org/#/c/131677
With patch applied deployment of compute nodes (if KVM is selected as hypervisor) fails:

    Check that os family is 'Debian' instead of
    'Ubuntu'.
